目标：认识单词：balloons candles presents, cookies, plates, cups
Step1: warm up.
Step2: review: sing the song 〈ten little Indians〉, count 1—10
1. T shows a “cake”: Look , What’s this? It’s a cake.(the kids respond)
2. Today is Tony’s birthday ,repeat ,birthday.
3. look at the VCD.
4. recall the story in Chinese.
5. recall the scene of “birthday”, learn the words : candles ,presents,balloons, cookies, plates,cups
Step4: listen to the tape ,learn the conversation.
1. listen to the tape , get to know the wholly story.
2. T play the tape ,then pause ,the kids follow the tape to read the conversation one sentence by one sentence.
3. Distribute the role , perform the conversation.
4. read the story together.
Step 1: warm up.
1.T shows the word cards ,review the words.
2. read the conversation together .
1. recall the story , How old is Tony? He’s 9.
2. T shows the sentence: How old are you? I’m 8. explain the useless of the sentence.
(use to ask someone’s age )
3. practice the sentence. Ask everyone’s age with the sentence.
4. ask the kids to find his friends ,and ask his (her) age with the sentence and record it .
5. Practice the sentence : How old is he(she)? She(He) is xxx.
T points to someone and ask :How old is he? Ask the kids try to answer .
T correct the answer .
The kids practice the sentence by the same way.
Step4: Listen to the tape .finish practice 1 and 2.
1. listen to the tape ,number the picture.
2. listen to the tape ,answer the question.
Step 2: review .
1. practice the sentence.:How old are you? / How old is he(she)
2. review the words by flash cards.
1.T shows the picture of one candle and many candles , ask the kids to speak out the different between the two words.
2. explain the pls of the words ,tell the kids some rules about the noun’s pls.(讲解名词的单数与复数的不同，了解复数形式及读音规则)
3. practice the words.
Step 4 finish Activity 1 and Activity 2.
1. count and answer .
2. learn to sing the song .
